Moxibustion Therapy

What is Moxabustion?

Moxibustion therapy is a process for specific conditions, such as during late pregnancy, when it is designed to turn a baby in utero so that it breeches headfirst. The technique is based on a Traditional Chinese medical process, wherein Moxa, a dried herb usually made from Mugwort is used directly on the skin or above to warm a specific area. As the heat from the Moxa permeates through the body it has a relaxing and therapeutic effect, affecting the flow of Qi and blood to the area.

Moxibustion offers great relief from a range of different pains caused by a variety of different conditions, from pregnancy to arthritis, digestive disorders and more, so to find out how I can help you, get in touch with Remedy Acupuncture Clinic today.

Benefits of Moxibustion Therapy for Pregnancy

For pregnant women with a baby in breech, the moxibustion therapy works with exceptional results. With advice from your doctor or midwife to inform you that your baby is still in breech before the treatment starts, it’s an extremely safe procedure and can help with the birthing process moving forward.

After 34 weeks of pregnancy, I can provide moxibustion therapy on the basis of safe service for all clients with the approval of a doctor or midwife. Moxibustion can allow your baby to turn more easily and provide a better birthing experience.  Contact Vicki at Remedy Acupuncture Clinic to discuss suitability.
