Spring Equinox

On the spring equinox, which falls around March 20th or 21st each year, there is a perfect balance between day and night as the sun crosses the celestial equator. This year it fell on Wednesday March 20th at 3.06am. This astronomical event symbolizes the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, bringing a sense of renewal and rejuvenation. As nature awakens from its winter slumber, many cultures around the world celebrate this day as a time of new beginnings, growth, and harmony. It's a time to embrace the increasing light, shed the darkness of the colder months, and harness the energy of the changing season to embark on fresh opportunities and challenges.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine Spring is linked to the wood element. Characterised by the colour green and associated with the Liver & Gallbladder meridians. It’s a time to shake off winter and embrace the rejuvenating energy of spring and bring focus and awareness to the new season.

Spring is a time to reawaken and grow, expand on your dreams and make plans to expand your potential. Activate and nourish your liver Qi by adding green foods such as broccoli, asparagus and kale and sour foods such as fermented foods and rhubarb.

We created a special event with Indian Roots Yoga Studio to celebrate the Spring Equinox, a Yin & Pin guided yoga and auricular acupuncture treatment to guide ourselves into this new movement. The event runs on Sunday 24th March at 5pm. follow us on social media for new posts on upcoming events we hold.
