What is Herbal Therapy?
Herbal therapy has long been an integral part of women's health, particularly within the scope of Chinese medicine, which emphasizes the balance and harmony of the body's energies.
Chinese medicine employs a variety of herbs to address specific health concerns experienced by women, such as menstrual irregularities, menopause, and fertility issues. For instance, Dong Quai, often referred to as "female ginseng," is renowned for its ability to balance hormones and support reproductive health. Similarly, the use of Peony Root can alleviate menstrual pain and regulate cycles.
These herbs are typically used in conjunction with lifestyle adjustments, such as diet and acupuncture, to enhance their efficacy. By focusing on the root causes of health issues rather than just symptoms, Chinese medicine offers a holistic approach that can empower women to achieve optimal wellness throughout their lives.

How do I take the herbs?
I measure out your formula from full herbs then grind to a powder. You will then steep 1-2 teaspoons of the prescriptive formula in a thermos with boiling water for a couple of hours. Then drink the decoction.
Can I take herbal therapy if I am on medication?
Yes, in the consultation we will discuss any medication or supplements that you are taking. I then consider and check the suitability of any herbs to make sure there are no interactions. Generally speaking we advise that you take any medications at a different time to drinking your decoction.
How long would I need to take herbs?
This is dependant on the situation whether it is acute to chronic condition. Everyone is different so we evaluate as we go along.
